Ode to Cupcakes

An Ode to The Cupcake.

I have been called decadent, scrumptious and sinful. I have been covered in chocolate icing and drenched in sweet sumptuous cream. I have been dressed in candies and chocolates, with nuts and sweet fillings, wrapped in red velvet and displayed on pedestals behind glass. I am stared at with wanting eyes, mouths water with a sweet quiver of desire for my every morsel. I have been made with the most expensive ingredients and with the most humble but still I am and will always be forever more a delicious and most coveted Cupcake.

Hello and welcome to my blog! After many days of planning my wedding and also helping plan family and friends I decided to share the wealth of information I have gathered with other brides. And so I give to you Belle Jornee Events to make your day a Beautiful Day too.

This weekend my project is to update my header. I had borrowed a lovely design from someone but this was a temporary design and this weekend I will create my own masterpeice.
I am feeling a Vintage Friday coming on so here are some georgous weddings from the past.
This reminds me of Hollywood hay-days in the 30's.

This is my favorite picture. Such an adorable pose for a memorable wedding photo.

Why walk down that same boring traditional cake-walk for your wedding. Explore taste and texture with decadent cheese cake. This option is especially attractive at smaller weddings and events. I love wine parties and cheese cake is an absolutely perfect coupling to light fruity wines, sugared fruits and other cheeses (even if it is just my husband and I).

Wine and Cheese is such a classic for any occasion. You really can't go wrong serving guests this charming combination. you'll be sure your making any occasion warming and friendly. So pick a somber evening to get together with your bridal party to complete your invitations, organize seating arrangements or assemble those do-it-yourself projects and have a little Soiree while your at it.

Today I tirelessly peruse the Internet for notable wedding accouterments. My Brother-in-Law and future Sister-in-Law took my husband and I to showcase the venue they have chosen (an extraordinary step back in time set amongst a bustling city) Cannonsburg in downtown Murfreesboro, TN. The chapel is picture perfect in the essence of romance.

The wedding will take place in the fall which I think will be a perfect backdrop for the quintessential setting they've chosen. This wedding will be an unforgettable day of romance and celebration.

Not that I am a partaker in the mass consumption of alcohol (*evil grin*) but I have run across such a fine champagne that I must share with those who have not been introduced as of yet to this tantalizing beverage.

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Brut Champagne is a brilliant non-vintage Brut fully flavored with Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay grapes. The signature yellow label wraps the bottle where inside is an elegantly balanced champagne with tones of apple and a little caramel. Truly delightful and most bottles are very affordable. If you do your bargin hunting you can find this treasure for under $20 a bottle. The Rose I have yet to experience but one can always find a good reason celebrate can't one.

But alas, I still don't know what I am wearing to the wedding.....

Sandals Sandals Sandals!

Like any self respecting woman in Florida I have tons of sandals. It is an obsession for me. There is nothing more romantic and exotic than a barefoot bride on the beach at sunset. But what about shoes you ask. If you have decided to be a barefoot bride for your wedding and are feeling a bit cheated out of a shoe shopping experience here is an elegant suggestion. the "barefoot Sandal"....

http://www.beachbridejewelry.com/ has the most exquisite barefoot sandals made with freshwater and Swarovski pearls.

Or, if your feeling an onset of DIY the local craft store has eveything you'll need to create your own beautiful pair of Barefoot Sandals. I've seen some natural help and bead sandals too that are absolutely georgeous.

Bonjour!

Welcome!  After viewing blogs and sites and so many other forms of communication on the subject of weddings and events I have finally decided to take the plunge.  When I planned my wedding it was my Mother and I against "them"!  "Them" being the business's who promise to deliver and once they have your money in hand they stop listening to what you want and loose interest.  My wedding was to say the least; forgettable.  The only things I remember about my wedding were that my peach cake and roses arrived as "Pepto-Pink" and the champagne was like flat Perrier (no lime). None of the groomsmen's tuxedos matched and the DJ thought it was acceptable for my new husband to remove the garter belt from my then 16 year old cousin’s thigh with his teeth and that I really loved Kenny G (not then, not now).  This was my turning point I vowed to ensure this did NOT happen to another unsuspecting bride again.

Life comes at you very fast some times and my life since that day has changed considerably.  But one thing has not.  The "them" is still out there!  I have since done researched and established many contacts outside the "them" network.  I try to make every day a "Beautiful Day" and want every bride to have their "Beautiful Day" with a lifetime of beautiful memories to go with it.

But first, I want a "do-over".  I want my Beautiful Day!  I have found a wonderful man, the other half of my soul.  And now I embark on a journey to my beautiful day.  And, others who wish to conquer "Them" and find their beautiful day as well please join me.  Let your wedding begin here.
